Adam Kerr; BRCS (British Red Cross Society) on 1914 star -- surname is impressed as McKay, but Mackay is correct (as on the pair). He was born in 1887 and his occupation was motor mechanic. He served in France as a Chauffeur from 8-11-14 to 6-6-15 with the Scottish branch based at Rouen. He later transferred to the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve and served from 14-7-17 on various small craft most notably Motor Launch 351. (CMM = Chief Motorman.) In the 1939 register, he was living in Sevenoaks and is shown as a Bedroom Steward on SS Aurania, although he does not appear to have continued serving in the Mercantile Marine in World War 2. He died in 1969.
The group has an unusual combination of service units.
