George William. He served with the 38th Field Company, RE (Mounted Section) and was entitled to a QSA (bars: Paardeberg, Driefontein, Relief of Kimberley and Transvaal). He served in France from 10-10-14 (so entitled to a 1914 star trio). He was drowned on 17-11-15 while being transported back to the UK on HMHS Anglia. This vessel struck a mine off Folkestone and sank in 15 minutes; about 129 people were lost. He is commemorated on the Hollybrook Memorial.
