William; he was born in 1874 in Bangor-on-Dee (SDGW says Wrexham). He served in France from 24-6-15 with the 2nd battalion (hence also entitled to a 1914-15 star). He was killed in action on 3-10-15 in fierce fighting as the battalion strove to defend a position around the Hohenzollern Redoubt. He enlisted in Birkenhead and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.
