He served in the 1st/6th battalion which travelled to India landing at Bombay on 2nd December 1914. At some point, he transferred to the 1st/5th battalion of the Royal West Surrey Regiment, number: T-243317. He died of influenza on 14th October 1918. He is buried in Bangalore (Hosur Road) Cemetery and has a non-CWGC headstone. Note that he is also entitled to a Victory Medal.
