Alexander; British Red Cross Society & Order of St John of Jerusalem. He was born in Tynemouth, Northumberland in 1876; in the 1911 census he was living in Wallsend and working as an electric craneman. He served as an orderly in France from 6-11-14 to 5-8-15 and transferred to the Royal Army Medical Corps, nos: 2030 and 386509 (1st Northumbrian Field Ambulance); he then served in Salonica and was entitled to a Silver War Badge (no: B295969), being discharged at the age of 42. In the 1939 register he is living in Wallsend and is shown still working as an electric craneman. He died in 1959.
