Enoch Jones. As 34619 King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, Died France and Flanders 4-5-18; 6th battalion. Buried Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres. Born Bilston, Staffordshire; enlisted Willenhall.
It is possible that this soldier died as a Prisoner of War. His MIC says "Died 4-7-18, but the pair roll and Soldiers Died give 4-5-18. CWGC Graves Registration Report shows Proyart as the original place of burial. Soldiers Effects has the cryptic message "Proyart off[icially] acc[epted] as". Proyart was in German hands from April to June 1918 so there is strong evidence to support this theory.
