Alfred Clarence Dore. Entitled to pair. Gazetted 2/Lt December 1914. Posted to York and Lancaster Regiment then transferred to Machine Gun Corps. Killed in Action France and Flanders 1st July 1916 with 101st Company (CWGC shows "Battalion", but this is an error as battalions of the MGC were not established until 1918). Buried in Gordon Dump Cemetery, Ovillers-la-Boiselle.
A photograph of him exists on http://www.lochnagarcrater.org.
He was the son of Alfred George and Edith Dore, of "Thaxted," Devonshire Avenue, Sutton, Surrey; and was 22 at the time of his death.
