Victor Alfred. Pte, 8th Infantry on star. He was present at Delville Wood serving in C Company of the 4th South African Infantry with the rank of Serjeant. He was subsequently commissioned, and was killed in action on 9th April 1917 (1st day of the Battle of Arras) aged 25. He was posthumously Mentioned in Despatches in the London Gazette of 28th December 1917. He is buried in Point-Du-Jour Military Cemetery, Athies.
